Bio
Monika Hinz’s passion for photography runs in the family. She inherited her love for the craft from her grandfather, whose black-and-white portraits of her mother sparked her earliest fascination. At the age of seven, Monika received her first Russian film camera, a gift from her mother, and that moment marked the beginning of a lifelong journey fueled by wonder and curiosity.
From capturing BMX stunts with her brother in the 1980s to documenting life across continents, Monika has turned her passion into her profession. She has photographed everything from the Northern Lights in Finland and Cherry Blossoms in Japan to the sun-drenched energy of Venice Beach, the Pyramids of Egypt, and the vibrant rhythm of daily life in Bombay.
Throughout her career, Monika has taught photography in Germany, curated exhibitions, shot for Japanese restaurants, and co-founded a professional e-commerce studio. Together with her husband, she has worked on weddings, lifestyle projects, and global campaigns for luxury brands like Armani and Shangri-La. Her camera is always with her, during her travels, her BMX performances, and everyday life, capturing not just what she sees, but what she feels. For Monika, photography is more than a profession. It’s a way of seeing, remembering, and sharing stories that last far beyond the moment.
